I forgot one of the beauties in the everyday
I watched the sun rise this morning, from the warmth of the hot tub. I am always amazed at how quickly it goes from dark to light. Momma rabbit and her two babies hopped out from their home, under the tub, after I had the jets off for a while, breakfasting on the very grass that hid them from most of the world. She had company (reminded me of the song, The Unicorn …and they marched in the anilmals, two by two, and he called out when he was through, hey Lord.. I got your green alligators, and long necked geese, some humpty back camels and some chimpanzees, some cats and rats and elephants, but lorn, so forlorn, I just can’t see no uncorns - oops, serious digression).
I could see all clearly, but I could also still see a few of the brightest guiding stars stubbornly refusing to concede to the day. I could have been under water, for all the noise I couldnt hear. I had planted rose bushes for the first time, and overnight, they seemed to jump in their eager growth, reaching for those stars before they wink away. I have a large backyard and I love to walk barefoot there for the grass is so very cool, no matter how hot the air that surrounds it. Reality crept back in and I got up and got going, for (drum roll please…)
Festival Season is upon us. Our festival - Clevelands Irish Cultural Festival (www.clevelandirish.org) is celebrating its 24th Anniversary this year, July 21-23 and is only 3 weeks from today - Lordy much to do in that little time. The book is in full swing as well. So I probably wont be on as much till the end of the July. If you live near Cleveland, or one of the festival host cities that I will be attending this summer in Milwaukee, Dublin (Ohio), Pittsburgh or Kansas City (and maybe Peoria), I look forward to the chance to meet you, at the fests, or at a book signing. Thanks for commenting on the blogs and spurring great discussions,
Hope you all have a great summer and take the time to notice and enjoy all the glorious gifts of this world. I dont usually forget them, but this morning reminded me of the peace, the warmth, and the amazement, just in the dawning of the day.
