First Book Signing

What a NIGHT!

So tonight was my first book signing (y’know I can’t type signing without misspelling it as singing, is that Freudian?).  No idea what to expect.  It went really well.  Sold quite a few books and had a ball talking to people.

A “funny” thing happened though.  When I first got there, I pulled up in front, unloaded by poster, easel, giveaways, extra books etc..  So I park the car and go meet the administrator, to see where they want me to set up.  I go back to my stuff and the poster is gone.  This is a very nice 24 x 36 inch foam board of my book cover - gorgeous and very expensive.  I was pissed!  4 people searched all over for it, no luck. after about a 1/2 an hout, this guy gets up to do a presentation.  He has a drawing kind of thing, stuck to a foam board.  Hmm….

SURE ENOUGH HE HAD TAKEN MY BOARD to use the back.  Never asked me, one of the administrators, nothing.  Didn’t even have the class to apologise after.  Oye I was pissed.  Glad to get it back, definitely, but damn, how could you just take it like that?  I would have gladly let him use it, but if he had asked, I am quite sure the administrator would have found him something.  Damn, I guess I am still pissed.

Well anyway, the night was good and the signing was good and I am off to a great start in selling Festival Legends: Songs & Stories.
